Truck info: 73 F100 390 V8, factory A/C, Auto Trans, stock exhaust manifold that goes clickity click.

Ok...so I have an exhaust leak from the manifold on my truck. The previous owner down in Perry, GA put two gaskets on the passenger side in an attempt to solve the exhaust leak--I think it only made it worse. It has one single gasket (stock) on the driver's side, and the stock one plus a fiber one on the passenger side.

Now. That being said, I've been trying to find a shop that can put headers on this truck, and run some rather large exhaust with an H pipe, and put my mufflers on. I want to go with a dual exhaust setup. Up here in Athens, and even down in Warner Robins, I'm getting the same story--if I put the headers on, they'll do the rest. I don't have a place to really do that. Does anyone know of a shop around GA that will put the dang headers on AND run the pipes to my mufflers? I can have the headers and mufflers in a couple of weeks, but I'm not gonna order them if I don't have a way to get them installed. Everyone seems to be very afraid of a bolt breaking off in the head. I know someone has to do it--plenty of folks around here have headers.

Most muffler shops will not do headers as you found out. You might have better luck looking into an auto repair place to install the headers, then take it to a muffler shop.

 

Hey Nick, bring them by and I will help you install them. I'm in Acworth, right by Lake Allatoona, just off I-75.
I also let Marietta Muffler do all of my muffler and tailpipe work. They've been in business for years. They do a good quality job for a fair price. I had them put one of their lifetime mufflers on my truck years ago, and I haven't paid for one since.

Nick if you order the headers go ahead and order Black Oxide Hex Head bolts. I got my Hooker Headers and Head bolts from Summit. They are awesome.

Thanks guys! I'll be getting these headers/gaskets/mufflers on order soon. I just have to get the headers on, then I guess I'll be driving a loud @ss header only 390 to an exhaust shop hahahaha. This could be awesome.
