Wanting to do some touch-up work. A spot repair. The vehicle is a 1996 Ford Truck Oxford White paint code YZ. I know it's a base clear finish but I haven't been able to find out what type (urethane, lacquer, enamel etc.) that ford used at the factory or what would be the best type to buy to do this. I plan to fill in a small ding, prime, paint the spot, then clear the entire panel. Anyone with any info or tips on this please let me know. Have been debating on buying the premixed duplicolor championship white but not sure how close of a match that would be so I plan to go to the auto paint store but I need to know what would be the best type of paint to get to do this and whatever else I may need (reducer, hardner, etc) to most closely duplicate the factory finish. avoid duplicolor unless you are repairing paint chips/nicks

an auto paint supplier can color match (with a laser or if they are ol timers, by eye) the paint. They can also pre-mix the paint for your gun so minus the hardner, its ready to go- a $ saver. Lacquer is the easiest to use on a small repair but its almost impossible to find....next choice would be Urethane- works & finishes much like lacquer.
