Remove Gear Selector Wood Trim

Ive been thinking about replacing the two fake wood pieces on the gear selector with the leather pieces from the Navigator. They look very similar.

Has anyone removed these before? Do they just pull off or is there a hidden screw I'm not seeing?

Thanks!

They just pry off. According to the shop manual you start at the bottom FRONT only and slowly work to the top front. Also keep in mind once these pieces are removed they don't go back on.
The ones from the newer 2011 & up Expeditions are leather too so either one should fit.

Matt
So they aren't held on by typical clips like the other console pieces?

Interesting. I wonder how they are held on?

Probably small clips that break off when you remove the pieces.
