Ute lake

Anyone familiar with ute lake? I'm thinking of going there with my 21' RV and aluminum bass boat.
Its a bit of a drive from ABQ so I'd like to figure out how to get to a launch ramp/camping area (next to the water). Paved roads would be nice but I can handle dirt for a little ways.

Thanx
Bear

Never been. Why not Heron, El Vado, Cochiti? At least with the first two you've got mountains and trees.

Also, if you're headed out east, there's Conchas lake too.

Unfortunately Heron is no wake, Conchas is no water and El Vado in the summer is low water and no fish.

Trying to go somewhere that actually has water in it. i used to love Conchas but it's been a long time since it had decent water levels.

If I sold my boat I bet the drought would go away.

I asked my dad, and while he says he knows nothing about Ute Lake (except that it always seemed pretty much equivalent to Conchas), he says he has been to Abiquiu lately and the water level there is decent. Plus Abiquiu doesn't have wake restrictions.

The interesting thing to me about UTE is I'm told it's designated a recreational use lake and very little water can be taken from it for other uses. i.e. It has a good chance of good water levels.
Fishing is supposed to be good also . I'll post a review after the end of the month.
