2008 Super Duty F250 6.4 L Diesel Problems

Hello All,

I have been having problems with my 2008 F250 6.4 L Diesel. Two radiators so far, and now, one day after the second radiator was installed, this past Saturday, June 2, 2012, I had 2 quarts of oil in my radiator.

The Turbo discharge hose blew off 3 times right after the radiator was installed. Cleaned and washed it and drove it 150 miles before the oil in radiator problem was noticed.

Went by my dealer and they told me that it was either the EGR Cooler or the Oil Cooler. I may be wrong, but the EGR Cooler does not have oil going through it or does it?

Is there anything else other than the Oil Cooler that can leak oil into the coolant system?

Dealer told me it could cost between $900.00 and $2500.00, depending on what was wrong, So I am a little concerned about what they said about the EGR Cooler leaking oil in the radiator. Is this possible?

Thanks and Have a Great Day,
jraquel

time for a new dealer. No oil in the EGR cooler. However the oil cooler itself has coolant that goes thru it.

Is this motor still under warranty?

Sounds like some weak work on thier part.

senix,

Thanks for the reply,

Motor not under warranty. I heard Ford increased the warranty to 100,000 miles and 5 years from problems with the radiator. Do you know if this is true. One dealer told me "NO". Have had to replace the radiator twice.

Radiator would not be covered past the 36/36 unless if failed due to a warrantied part.

Motor is 100K/5years.

Does this 5yr/100,000 mile cover the loss of the oil cooler?

My dealer says there is no 5 yr/100,000 mile warranty on this engine. How can I prove to them that it is?

Did you buy it new?

Maybe previous owner voided the warranty?

when exactly?

I think some 2008's are out of engine warranty.

You can always call ford and give them your vin and ask for info, but the dealership should be able to provide the same I believe.

Thanks Senix,

I have been trying to get this information since I have been having problems with this truck. Now I need to find the exact date when I bought this truck and re-visit my dealer.

The truck is not drivable. Is the dealer obligated to haul it to their shop?

Thanks and Have a Great day,
jraquel

yes some of the first 2008 models were actually sold in early 2007 which would mean those would be out of warranty. Did you ever find out when you bought it? Warranty starts at that point.
