Question HELP WITH %#$@ BRAKES TECHS STUMPED!!!

1988 RANGER 2.9 V6 2 WD AUTO HELP

I HAVE BRAKES WHEN ENGINE IS OFF

I HAVE REPLACED MAST CYL AND BRAKE BOOST. BOTH BRAND NEW!

START ENGINE AND BRAKES TRVEL TO FLOOR WITH FOOT ON THEM.

( SAME SYMPTOM ) BEFORE REPLACING MASTER CYL AND BRAKE BOOSTER.

THEY PUMP UP AND WORK WITH VACUUM LINE TAKEN OFF AND PLUGGED.

BRAKES DO WORK WITHOUT VACUUM HOSE ON BOOST. "HARD BUT WORK"

WHEN CONNECTED AND ENGINE STARTED THEY HAVE A LITTLE BRAKE WHEN ON THE FLOOR.

ANY IDEAS? LOTS OF VAC FROM MANIFOLD.

I AM STUMPING THE LOCAL TECHS FROM THE LOCAL GARAGES AND PEP BOYS.

First off, un hit the caps key, your post will be easier to read, and you will be more apt to get help.

There is also a forum for rangers
Ranger & B-Series - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums
They will be more familiar with your truck

Now. My guess, you have to adjust your rear brakes, and get the shoes closer to the drums, and you probably need to bleed your brakes, the booster is doing it's job. I suspect there probably is a rusted brake line in the mix
