this is the state my truck was in when i bought it.

one after i rebuilt the carb and got it running we pulled it out of there. mind you it had no breaks and that id a steep incline. but it wen't fairly smoothly. it was sitting up across the street from where i live so we didn't have to drag it very far.

so i cleaned out the bed of 5+ years of leaves beer cans and rotting wood and power washed it

after i replaced the wheel cylinders and figured out it had new break shoes and rotors all around i painted up the wheels with rustolium gloss black (i highly recommend it for wheels)to make them match

after i figured out the leaf springs were bad it sat out at my dads work for the winter so i could do the job there

and the day i got the springs all on (with thanks to dad for his help and his boss for letting it sit out there) i brought it home and that big lot with a drive path going up it is where it had been sitting until i came along and bought it for the healthy sum of 300 dollars.

and that is my story relating to this truck.

Nice score there Bud. What engine and trans she got? If it was me I like to get them running and stopping and the lights and like that to work than drive them for a while before starting the restoration. It lets Her tell me what she wants. It gives ya a feel for the truck and I think a much better idea of what ya want in the end.

Nice truck. Keep it up and it will make a nice driver! The best kind of truck in my humble opinion!

well ive got pretty much all the kinks worked out. now i need windshield wipers so i can drive it on rainy days. but otherwise im just going to drive it when the weather is nice like always and watch all the people faces when they see this big rusty old ford go by. i might restore it someday but not just yet im enjoying the rust and rattles and the big puff of smoke that comes out from back when i shift into second(ive seen people try to drive around the big cloud and its made me laugh a lot).also i have not once heard anybody say its not cool. thanks for the reply

I always smile when I see an old truck like yours on the road. I'm glad to see that you have it on the road.
