This motor has up until now been one of the most impressive pieces of technology I've owned. Still in love with it, just frustrated.

So out of no where I started to get a shudder / shake / eventual blinking CEL any time there was much of a load on the engine. Was able to limp back to a dealer (not the selling one) and dropped it off. They reported that cyl 2 was misfiring, moved coil to cyl 1 and then it started misfiring, so they replaced that coil and it tested fine. Refused to honor warranty and charged me $3xx. Service guy told me he'd never heard of this.

When I drove it home it was amazing, was like life had been put back into it. I think something had been going on for awhile because it felt like it had more power. Or maybe it was the gutless F-150 4.6L loaner truck I had for four days....

On my way to work in the AM the check engine light came on solid and as soon as I tried to merge onto the freeway the misfire was back! Was able to make it several more hours under light throttle and got it to the selling dealer. Service guy said this is a known issue and has had similar on his personal ecoboost. Called back today to report that cyl 2 is misfiring but the issue goes away with a new spark plug. Advised doing a whole set. Also reports that they ordered me a new catalytic converter under warranty as my left one was toast. Said I was lucky I was still under warranty, $1000 repair.

He didn't say anything about a reflash but I think I wanna make sure they do that??

Wanted to add that I've continued to give this truck INSANE tasks without issue before all the trolls jump on!

Why were you charged for the first repair? I hope everything works out will for you and I would appreciate it if you could keep us all in the loop.
