1953 F700 Cab Mounts
Gentlemen (and Ladies),
I'm new to this site, but a life long Ford lover. For years I have dreamt of restoring a 53-56 F-series truck, but unfortunately any thing I've found in decent shape has been way out of my price range. I recently discovered the cab of a '53 F700 that is fairly straight and 99% rust free. Why the previous owner removed the cab from the frame or what he did with the frame after that is a mystery, but the price of the cab is right(FREE). I'm looking for info on the dimensions of this cab compared to the F100. To my untrained eye the cabs look identical, so I'm hoping to put this cab on a 1/2 ton frame. I'm just wondering if this is possible or practical, and if it would fit later model 1/2 ton frames. Any info or suggestions you may have would be a huge help. Thank-you!

and Welcome aboard!
Yes. The cabs are the "same". The fenders are MUCH bigger though.
Cheers,
Rick
