So i assume the point of these is so the tires stick out further? Are they a good idea or a bad one? i like the look of the tires coming out of the wells which mine do but id like a little more. So what the positive and negatives of these?

Also is there some that anyone would recomend?

I don't trust them but I have seen people run them. If I wanted my tires to stick out more I would get a different set of rims with less back space and a wider rim.

 

While they do make the tire stick out farther, I think the primary reason for their existence is to use wheels with different mounting hole patterns, like to convert 8x6.5 to 8x170. They would also function to move a wide tire out to clear when making tight turns.

IMO, I dont like them as they move your weight bearing away from the hub. I'd prefer a wheel with less backset.

Also, I believe our trucks are hub-centric, meaning the load is transferred to the wheels through the hubs, and the adapters are lug-centric

I'm running some on the front so I don't rub my radius arms when I turn full lock. I'm running 35's on stock 90's Alcoa's.

 

OOoooooo nice! Do you have or see how they could cause a problem? And is there a problem with running them in the rear? I have 35"s as well and the front rub but id like the front and rear to both stick outa the wells the same distance...

Also where di you get yours and how much?

 

i got mine from a local shop here, called Pick-up Parts in Mission Viejo SoCal. These will add stress on the bearings just like running wide rims with a deep offset. Use lock tite and torque to - I think 90 lbs., double check. These are a temp till' I get wider beams and/ or custom radius arms. People will give your their opinions on these, do some research and you'll see that people use them with success, even desert race teams. The rears should be no prob.

 

Im getting new bearings this week .. And im running 16X10 rims currently with a -32 offset i believe. might be -27 but still it has a nice offset to them. Also, whats a D44 and or D60 axle lug size?

 

I don't wanna give ya buzz kill, but my trucks 2WD. not sure on lug size.

 

I had them on my little import, but personally I would not use them on these trucks. I would look into wheels that have the offset you want.

 

I'm going with bad idea. Yes, I have used them. Billet spacers are one thing, and safer, as you install longer lugs. Wheel adapters however, are a different animal. Check your local laws to see how much you can have extending past fenders. That may make your decision for you.
