Fuel Selector Switch wiring

Fuel Selector Switch wiring
I have recently bought a 72 F250 Camper Special with a 360. Neither of the fuel tanks are registering. The previous owner tried to install a different switch and cut all the wires. I have the correct switch and need to find out the correct way to wire it up. any help would be great. Thanks

Welcome to the forums.
I don't have the wiring diagram, but likely a DPST(double pole, single throw) switch is used.
I also don't know what the switch looks like physically, but electrically speaking:
The "common" post of the switch goes to the dash(guage), the other two posts accept the wires from each tank sending unit. Thus the two positions of the switch gives you readings from alternate tanks.
Hope this help some.

1967/72: With the factory installed auxillary tank, there is a manually operated fuel tank selector valve on the floor adjacent to the drivers side of the seat.
Below the dash, to the left of the steering column, mounted on a bracket is the fuel tank switch (D3TZ-9A050-B replaced C1TZ-9A050-A) that only switches the dash fuel gauge from one tank to the other.
Behind this switch is a bezel (C1TF-10852-A) that is marked: L. FUEL TANK R.
1970/72 factory installed auxillary tank: The exposed fuel cap pokes thru the quarter panel (bedside) below the scallop (bumpside) line in front of the left rear wheel.
If the fuel cap is mounted in the bed, or behind an aluminum door that is riveted to the quarter panel, it is not a genuine Ford auxillary tank, the switch isn't genuine Ford either.
