How do I break in a new 2012 F-350 6.7L?

2013 break in
Well i've had my '13 f-250 Lariat 4x4 for a couple of weeks now and I admit I didn't read the manual. Common sense suggests taking it easy, while working everything. So I drove it in town using the toggle switches on the column, pretty cool. An a quick trip on the freeway to see what the mileage would get to, about 15. I have a little TT, about 5000 which I will probably wait to pull until April. That's my story.

oil change
Howdy fellas,
The new truck is great. Im coming up on 1700 miles. At 1100 I towed my 10k trailer 200 miles. Any thoughts on an oil change????? Dealer said not to do it until the truck tells me it needs one. Every other vehicle I've bought I always did it at 500 mi. Just to get the factory junk out. The dip stick looks like its been in there for 15k. I'm told thats normal though.
I hope your all well and thanks again,
MARK

towing
Hi guys . The nw truck is doing great thanks to you.
Next question. I have a 28 foot travel trailer. Tounge weight is 900 lbs. The trailer weighs 8000 dry. Its not a fifth wheel. The truck is a 172 6.7 f350 cc. If i fill the water tank, thats 500 lbs. My fat *** is 235 lbs. I probably have 500 lbs. of gear in the trailer. Im wondering if i can put my 1000 lb. Quad in the back of my truck and still be legal. Or am I even legal without it?
Thank you
Mark

I did take a look at the diesel supplement after reading the 500 vs 1000 mile debate. I would imagine that would take precedence over the standard owners manual. According to the diesel guide you need to drive 500 miles before towing. I'm around 450 right now and decided to hold off on a 600 mile camping trip until I get a few more miles for the break-in. We'd be pulling an 8k wilderness camper across some steep grades crossing through North Carolina. Maybe next time!
As far as the oil change is concerned, I'll wait until the truck tells me to change it. I think anything else is overkill.. Especially with a engine that holds 13 quarts.

6.7 Break In
At 325 varying low speed miles on the engine I had to make a freeway run. Really did not want to but it was a must do thing. I ran the truck on cruise but tried to vary the speed 10 to 20 mph (60-80) every 5-10 miles. It was hard to tell but I feel pretty sure the rpm changed a bit when the speed changed. I hope the speed fluctuation helped but I understand that freeway speeds were probably not an ideal way to break in this engine. Another thing I kept-keep forgetting is to let the engine idle to cool down before shutting it down. Pre-trip I could hardly hear that engine running. Post trip it is much louder. I don't know, maybe I am just being a bit paronoid and worried about much of nothing.
I now have 1078 miles on the truck. Maybe an oil change is order.
Oh, about 50 miles from home the instant mpg settled out at 18.4. With 2 fill ups, the trip A showed 19.2 mpg. That is pretty impressive in my book.
My Reese Elite Slider is supposed to be delivered next week. I really want to pull my Puma toy hauler to the coast for some fun in the sun. I am really anxious to see and feel the difference between how my old 2011 250 6.2 and this new 350 6.7 pulls that trailer.
Now if I can just quit worrying about this break in thing and just drive it.
