F10 = F100 2WD

J = 223 1V I-6.

R = San Jose CA Assembly Plant.

120,797 = 1961, assembled December 1960.

Warranty Plate codes:

122" Wheelbase.

M = Corinthian White.

F100 2WD, 5,000 lbs. GVWR

BODY code omitted. The BODY code is important, because it defines a Standard Cab Uni (66A) from a Custom Cab Uni (66B).

A = Ford Light Duty 3 Speed Manual Transmission.

12 = Ford 9" Rear Axle / 3.89-1 / non Limited Slip / 3,300 lb. Rear Axle Capacity.

5,000 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.

114 net HP @ 3,600 RPM

DSO blank: There is no DSO code on these trucks, unless they were Domestic Special Orders.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1961/66 Custom Cabs have stainless steel windshield reveal mouldings, Custom Cab script nameplates on the doors (some 1963/66's came with Custom Cab door handle guards).

1961 Custom Cabs have a chromed steel grille, 1962/66's have an anodized aluminum grille.

AFAIK, only Uni Custom Cabs (body style 66B) came with a wrap around back glass. Below the back glass is a stainless steel moulding:

C1TB-6642404-A = 1957/63 Ford Truck Parts Catalog sez: 1961/63 F100/250 Body Style 66B

Chrome front bumpers were optional on all 1961/66's, did not come with any package. All rear bumpers were optional, did not come with any package.

Ford did not offer chrome hubcaps. F100 Custom Cabs came with stainless steel hubcaps, F100 4WD's (no Uni's were 4WD) did not come with any front hubcaps.

Standard Cabs: Do not have stainless steel w/shield reveal mouldings, 1961/66's came with a painted steel grilles, painted dog dish hubcaps.

All edited into post 2 / Look on the Warranty Plate between the MODEL & TRANS codes for the BODY code.

Will be either 66A or 66B.

Can I add my numbers from the Tag on my 61 Ford F100 Unibody short bed?

I found the tag inside of glove box little door.

WB: 114, Color: S, Model: F100, Transaxle: A11, Net HP: 114 (definetly tells me it's a L6 engine), RPM 3600.

Thanks very much, (will buy you a beer some time at a show).

thanks.
El mas Chicho.

Thanks very much Señor Number Dummy, you are my Hero.

O.k so the Paint is original in my truck as I was cleaning it I noticed that rubbing it with the scoths brite the Brown primer color started showing out from the paint!!!

I got right now something that dosnt look original a 352 engine with a 4 brbl carb, and a Automatic Transmission on it.

I Really want to Fix this truck up, but after reading the specs of that 352 engine,,I dont wanna keep it.

I have a lefted over 302 for a previus project, do anyone think that it's a good idea to go for the 302 and a Ford OD automatic that I got left over from another project??

Or should I go and look for the original 6 cylinder on line and rebuilt it and may be add a 5Speed stick to any the 6Cyl in line or the 302 V8?

your advice will be wellcome, insults are wellcome too.

Thanks/Gracias.

the six is a good motor but a slug IMO but a nice 302 with a five speed would be nicer
