07 EB EL painted pictures

Hey guys,
I own a 2007 Expedition EB EL as you all can see from my avatar.

Just had all the pueblo gold lower cladding, front and rear bumpers and the running boards professional painted BLACK to match the rest of the truck.

I can't believe the totally different look it took on, Need to bolt the running boards back on tonight.

I also painted the ford grill emblem that was delaminated.

Let me know what you all think...I will take better pictures later after I clay polish and lay down some wax.

Looks like an XLT now. j/k

Seriously though it looks great. Did they remove the parts to paint them or leave them on ?

Just think, if you get the blacked out headlights and leave the grill chrome it will look like one of the new Limiteds.

Matt,
I removed the running boards for him to paint...He did say he would remove but I don't think he did.

He is semi retired after 30 years in business with two helpers
The pictures don't do justice, the truck looks totally different.

I wanted to remove the side emblems Expedition EL, but too much trouble to fill the holes behind them etc.

I'm going to dip them black with PlastiDip and I might also dip the wheels or have them powder coated satin silver

definitely need to consider it, the grey they used doesn't look too bad, but all my other cars are black with no other color accents, and i have this thing for black cars. bet the f150 harley davidson 2010 rims would look a lot nicer if i got my trim done in black btw did they remove anything to spray, or did they just mask the car up to spray?

Nice. Did he use some special paint for the running boards? I would assume those are hard to paint becuase of the material.

Berry1234,
He said he had to use plastic adhesion promoter on all plastic body cladding and running boards for flexing, as for the paint the same Dupont black tuxedo.

Here is a link for Dupont Automotive Paint & Coatings.
<A target=noframes HREF="http://www2.dupont.com/Automotive/en_US/products_services/paintCoatings/plasticExterior.html ">DUPONT </A>

On the ford grill "emblem" that delaminated, I applied <A target=noframes HREF="http://www.krylon.com/products/fusion_for_plastic/ ">KRYLON </A> in satin.

The side EXPEDITION EL emblems and rear EB emblem along with the RSC i'm going to "dip" with <A target=noframes HREF="http://www.plastidip.com/diy.php ">PlastiDip </A>Satin

Thanks to all for the kind words.
T
