Suspension bits and pieces

Hi all, at the recent GTG I was also looking at a number of trucks with sagged front suspension. If the front axle is less than 2" off the bump stops then it's sagged....

This is what I fitted to mine to lift the front of my truck:

2.5" 00-04 Ford F250/F350 Super Duty (Diesel) Leveling Lift Kit @Top Gun Customz

A few points:
1) the kit above actually lifted the front of the truck 3.5", probably because the front was sagged 1" from stock (2" from the top of the axle to the bump stop end).
2) After the leveling kit I need to lift the back half an inch to match the front. Because I rarely fully load the truck I purchased 3" rear blocks to replace the 2" blocks and fitted these AND took the bottom leafs off each side. This worked a treat and made the truck much less harsh in the rear, and it got the front and rear level. The bottom leaf is 1/2 an inch thick!
3) With softer suspension and more front suspension travel the truck actually steers better, handles better, and has a more comfortable ride.
4) As with many US sites, this site is also yet to learn that Australia is the 53rd state and won't ship here. To get around this I set up a Viaddress user ID. See :
https://www.viaddress.com
Basically you can set yourself up with a US address, then the Viaddress service consolidates your deliveries at your US address and ships them over to your Aussie address as one consignment. This can save you a bit if you are making multiple orders within the allowed free consolidation time (one month). Still expect to pay a lot to ship over suspension stuff - it ain't light!
