Are you wanting an original or semi-original look?If so,sometimes just elbow grease ,rattle-cans,and some good cleaners will work wonders.
.Thoroughly clean/degrease the engine bay.
.Remove the peripherals, such as generator and brackets, fan-blade and spacer, crank-case breather assy. etc.Spray-paint them.
.Install fresh new rubber hoses and clamps, or just polish the clamps.
.Take a good cleaner/degreaser to the spark-plug wires,or put on fresh wires.
.Re-paint the valve-covers and air cleaner. If you want, mask-off and paint the intake.
.Clean and paint the voltage regulator and horn relay.
.Scrub the battery and repaint the battery tray.Replace the battery and starter cables.
.Order yourself a few reproduction engine-bay decals from one of the catalogs, and apply them.
9. Now,watch everything begin to slowly get dirty again.
