Has anyone swapped a 5.4 for a new 6.2? I have a 2000 250 and was wondering if thats possible.

 

That sounds expensive.

 

I don't think you will get much of an answer on either of your 2 threads on this. That is because this type of engine swap would be completely cost prohibitive. The only reason for this type of operation is so that the owner could say "my 2000 f-250 has a 6.2, and its the only truck like this in the world."

 

I know this is a dead thread but I have been looking into this out of curiosity. I will be building my 5.4 to make na power because a supercharged engine doesn't fit what I need. It will be very expensive to break 300 rwhp with the 5.4 but easy to get over 400 rwhp with the 6.2 without loosing bottom end. The 6.2 can be stroked to a 400 ci engine and has many advantages over the 5.4 as a few mustang guys have shown already how easily it makes power. I have found a thread somewhere showing what needs to be done that someone posted on a thread I created at one point. I will try to dig it up, but my point is the negativity around this topic is ridiculous.

 

Very possible and very easy as with anything it costs money. Driver can CNC trigger wheel crank can wheel factory harness lays on top of the 6.2 trans bolts right up to 5.0 and 6.2 engines. You'll need a cabled throttle body and of course the engine it self. PCM tune for displacement increase. Motor mounts the 6.2 and 5.0 does not use act so the factory act will be shut off. Imdone 18 super duty swaps with the 6.2 and 4 stroked 6.2 motors. The parts and PCM tunning I charge is $700 labor $48.50 an hour on each swap vehicle motors very and what you find with all of the parts in hand its about 6 hours.

The best way to do that i would think is find a late model wreck that way you have all the newer electroinics stuff including that nice 6spd.&plug everything in.Less painful maybe? but its still going to smite

 

SO there is no possible way to do this in a reliable package? no reman , no possible engine swaps , nothing. No wonder chevy sells so many trucks

 

You are posting in a two year old thread, I suggest you start a new thread because something may have changed but remember alot of things changed from your year truck to the newer ones with the 6.2.

I think a V10 would be easier swap than 6.2
