Exclamation 95 f150 AOD wont move in drive, 1, or 2... only reverse

i am driving a 95 f150 AOD 5.0 4x4 truck, leaks alot of tranny fluid and today when dirving it started free revving while in motion but luckily cought back into drive (going probaly 30 mph) once i was almost home i had to turn onto my road (10mph) and the transmission would not go in drive, 1, or 2. I added tranny fluid and tried again, no forward motion but reverse would work. It would try to go in D2 but would not move, just free revved and didnt role backwards down the slight incline. Is this a result of a bad trans valve body? what could be the problem? i just removed the oil pan and filter, metal shavings in oil... one way clutch? i have purchased a new filter but am unsure as to what the real issue is. any help? thanks.

Are you sure you have an AOD in this truck? What is the trans code on the drivers door pillar? If it really is an AOD the first thing to check would be the TV cable, make sure it connected and adjusted properly, but it's far more likely you have the 4R70w which is completely computer controlled and if that's the case you need to pull the codes.

AODE-w/4r70w 14 bolt tranny. im thinkin its the one way clutch, valve body was very dirty and had some minor scores but looked okay. Pullin tranny in 2 days and gettin a road tested aode-w from a bone yard for 550 (my gf is buying tranny, if it was me i might have ripped the tranny apart and looked a little deeper, will probably be keeping and fixing the tranny once i put the new one in)

AODE is the car equivelent. you want a 4R70w from same year truck to keep from having any compatability issues

yes the AODE is the car equivalent, but the AODE-W is the truck model which is the same as the 4r70w
