Good Morning Arkansan's !!!

Appreciate your help in finding little out of the way places around the Little Rock - Lake Maumelle area....

Tomorrow we leave to meet another couple at Lake Maumelle park for a week of r&r and wanted some local 'flavor' in and around there...
even considering a run to Memphis for a day...

What's your favorite eateries, haunts, whole in the wall dives ?!?

Will be checking back for your suggestions and thanks in advance !

**** of the Walk, it's in Maumelle/North Little Rock...opposite side of the River from the lake. If your in West Little Rock and want to try a burger joint that's a little different...Purple Cow. The Five Alarm Burger is OUTSTANDING! And the purple milkshakes are handmade.

As much as I'd like to swing by...going to be a busy weekend for me. Got a GTG for the AR chapter and the honey-do list. Don't think I'll even get to ride the scooter while I'm off. I wouldn't mention my name there, they might not serve ya'

Come by anytime!

Petit Jean is a cool place to visit if you haven't been there, either for camping or staying in a cabin. Lots of trails and neat stuff to see up there:

Petit Jean State Park – Petit Jean Mountain – Arkansas State Park

We actually tried to stay there, but was booked up...
so we took a drive to Petti Jean JUST before a storm climbed up the mountain -
STUNNING to watch it chase across the valley toward us...

My new truck would have a workout getting up that road !!!!

You think that's a climb. You should check out these two:

Mt. Magazine:
Mount Magazine - Arkansas State Park - Arkansas State Parks
(highest point in Ark)

Queen Wilhelmina:
Queen Wilhelmina State Park - Arkansas State Parks
(the lodge dates back to the 1890's)

Both sit on top of a mountain the vista are stunning with woody RV spots. They also have lodges with all kinds of rooms that you can rent to stay in....the last I heard both have a backlog for rooms a year out. My family and I prefer QW...but both are really nice parks and there are lakes within 15-20 drives if you feel the need to get wet during the humid summers. I don't know about Magazine, but QW will see allot of motorcyclist from about early October through late November (fall colors).

Glad you enjoyed your self and y'all come back ya' hear!
