I haven't done one, but many have. I would recommend a few searches and read up. You will get a lot more answers if your question isn't quite so - general!

 

I saw a lot of EGR delete kits on Amazon which I was surprised at seeing. I have the same truck as you and this is one of the things I'll be doing to mine along with a coolent filter and a scanner.

 

Early production 6l EGR delete done at 165000km. The only drawback I can come up with is the cost (unless you can do it yourself). Still worth it though. Been 1yr., 20k ago. Lets see... better throttle response(especially off idle), fuel economy, idle, less smoke, more turbo whistle, sounds like a real diesel!

Welcome to FTE! IMHO I would leave the egr cooler alone unless yur eot/ect delta indicates you have a problem. If you do have a problem, there are lots of threads with the pros/cons here to help you make up yur mind to delete or replace it.
