Long bed agony

Hi everyone! Brand new to this site, it's awesome! So I am trying to get rid of a 1959 f100 that I pulled out of a barn after 20 years, and put some money into getting it going. Now I'm trying to sell it and nobody seems to want to touch a long bed. I'm posting on here to see if anyone might want it, or if you guys might think it would be worth more parted out? I would hate to see it taken apart and to have anything not used, but I need the money. Thanks!

We try to keep ads in the Classified section, and out of the Forums. Many people join just to sell items/vehicles, and the Forum is for getting or giving help with questions concerning our trucks.Plus, occasional blood-letting, tormenting of noobs, and weeding out of impostors!

Well I guess the advice I need then is, to part out or not to part out? How will this truck be worth more to me in the long run?

I don't know what you have it in but I'd have to think a complete running truck is worth more than the sum of its parts. Now, if it isn't running then perhaps selling it as parts might be better. The long bed trucks are less desirable than the short beds so you may have to wait for the right buyer to come along...

I've got about $900 into it now. I tried driving it and a few miles down the road the engine was getting pretty rough. I'll have to go measure the bed when I get a chance.

I might take it off your hands if the bed is in good shape. Is it a fleetside or stepside? Pics would be helpful!

It's not a step side. I'll have to get on a computer to get pics up. I can't seem to do it on the mobile version of this web page. The bed does have some rust but not in the sides.

I part out a few older trucks and cars. One at a time and sell the parts on ebay. Many old trucks will bring a lot more in parts than they will whole, but they have to be real solid parts, no rusted out stuff. Go on ebay and look for your model year in vintage parts, then click completed items and you will see. You just end up with about a ton of iron that needs to go to the crusher when you're all done..
