Question Just about to order a 2012 Chassie Cab 6.2

I am very close to putting the order in for a brand spankin new 2012 F350 Extended Cab XLT DRW Chassie with the 6.2, But I have a few questions?

(First new truck I ever have purchased) I have never wanted to take the hit new but when they give you what you paid for your old truck you cant say no!

Should I get the 3.37's or 4.10's?

Its going to have a dump body on it and be towing/hauling every day and plowing snow in the winter with occasional interstate travel, what do you guys think?

Im upgrading from a 08 V10 chassie with the same specs. Can I expect an increase in milage, have you guys run E85 in them with any plus sides?

Is the sync system worth it?

Anything else I should be looking out for or things I should be aware of!

I wanted to go with the 6.7 but its too expensive! I plan on turning this thing back in at 60-100K for a new one. Maybe the next will be a diesel.

I was pretty impressed with the get up and go from the 6.2

Thanks in advance! Ill throw some pics up once she get upfitted in 9 weeks

4.10 isn't an option,4.30's is....

With your use of the truck...No doubt 4.30's.

You ask about is the "sync system worth it?" I will say defiantly " yes " and particularly for you because of the amount of time you are working in that rig,....give your self a little pleasure to make your day.

I figured it was nice, Just not sure about the price tag! Still torn on the whole gear ratio thing. Are the 3.73's going to be fine or am I looking into it too much.

I would think that under the conditions that you outlined,...primarily a WORKING TRUCK, you should go with the 4.30 gear ratio and expect to loose 1 to 2 MPG at highway speeds over the 3.73 millage but you would probably break even if you are working the truck and using the 6 speed transmission in the lower gears if you had the 3.73 verses the higher transmission gears with the 4.30,....so your call but I would go with the 4,30 and you will probably still get better overall millage than your current V !0 and have more power.

I would go with the 4.30 gears, you'll have plenty of power with those.

Here's my 2 cents. I ordered the 4.30 gears for my F350 to maximize the power. It sounds like guys with the 3.73 gears are having to run in 5th gear at a higher rpm while towing. I thought with the lower gears it would be able to stay in 6th gears running at a lower rpm to increase fuel economy. I will soon find out, it sounds like I should get it in 3 weeks.
