Did some stereo work this week.
Started last year when we got a notice that some "reward points" were going to expire & we needed to do something with them before the end of the year. Now back in 07 I ditched the factory radio for a JVC CD indash unit, pair of Infinity door speakers & a pair of 5X7 Polk Audio poly speakers that fit nicely in the factory locations. Nice sound, low distortion when pushed. Whole thing (adaptors, some speaker enclosures, Ford DIN release tools, application specific instructions) came from Crutchfield for just under $300.
Since then I've upgraded to a nice smart phone & I've seen a lot of new units that have USB ports that will take a key drive which beats dragging around a wallet full of CDs. So naturally I get a Crutchfield catalog with lots of really nice stuff before Christmas. And in reward points catalog is a Crutchfield gift card...
So now I have a new Bluetooth capable unit with 2 USB ports, can be upgraded to satellite & HD radio, fit right into the old JVC mount. It has a really nice display that can be color matched to any gauge/interior lighting scheme. When I get a call on the cell, one button on the radio answers & I can hear through the speakers plus a bunch of other neat tricks.
And I picked up another set of Polks, harnesses & other pieces/parts to install the original JVC unit into my 92 Mustang GT (still on the to do list) which is still sporting its original sound system. All for less than $100.
Any way I'm stoked.

It sure does Adam. I wish I could spend more time in just cause its the only place I can listen to tunes at volume without bugging the wife, animals or neighbors. Since I have no intention to ever getting rid of this truck (or the Stangs, I got 2) I have visions of me cruising around blasting out 'Stones music when I'm 70. (if I make it that far)
