Lariat 4x4 EB or 4x4 Platinum EB?

Hi everyone,

I have been frequenting the 6.7 forum and have thought long and hard about the F150 EB and am wondering if you all had the choice which of these two would you choose and why? I assume the Platinum is basically everything you could want on the truck less the king ranch look?

I was looking at the FX4 Lariat awhile back and it was basically almost the same price as the Platinum when I got done adding the list of "wants"

As far as gearing what would be best to go with? We currently have a 3200 lb. boat to tow but might look into a 5er later on down the road years from now. (would have to pay off the boat first...lol)

Thanks all!

I looked at a Plat prior to buying my Lariat. Fo me, the Plat extras weren't worth the added cost. IIRC you get heated/cooled rear seats, ambient lighting, wheels, and some trim (probably missed something).

I have 3.55's in my EB and it pulls great. I don't tow, but I'm sure the 3.55 will be more than adequate for your boat. If you think you'll be moving to the upper ends of the tow range sometime soon, you might consider the 3.73. Keep in mind that the EB makes outstanding torque down low so you don't need as much rear gear to get the engine into the power band.

Edit: FYI, the 3.15 would have been just fine, but LS was only available in 3.55 and up, so that's why I opted for it.

One thing I did notice is that the towing was only rated at 9,600 with the 3.55 gearing. In order to tow the max capacity you have to have the 3.73 gearing.
