My Grandfathers 1960 F100

[IMG][/IMG]Here is the start to the rebuilding of my Grandfathers 1960 F100. It has been totally taken apart, I am going to mock the entire chassis up, then disassemble it for painting. I am going to take the front suspension out and install a Crown Vic front suspension. Then I am going to install the 4.6 DOHC engine and transmission, and finally install the Mark VIII rear suspension, including setting the axle/transmission angles. I have been waiting a long time and am excited to finally get started. I have been motivated by many of you, so for that I say thanks.

Welcome to the Fridge Forum! Home of the orphaned Ford truck.

Sounds like you have put some thought in to it. Things look firly sound from what I could see. That big back window is nice! Really cool that it belonged to family!

I bought my fridge because I had an awesome flareside bed that needed a truck. The longer I own it, the more I love it. All those big round fendered jobs look alike to me. Good luck with your project and family linneage is really cool!

Saturday I got the old suspension out, Sunday afternoon I got the crown vic suspension in position. I still have to make my spacers for the bolts, but everything is even and square believe it or not. I hope to get my spacers and my marauder motor mounts next week, then I will set the engine and transmission in place. Slow, but at least making progress.

I only got in a couple of hours this weekend, but I'm feeling old out in that unheated shop, Don't really wanna rush through this one. Keep up the good work, and we'll live vicariously through your build!

The engine, transmission, and rear suspension are out of the Mark VIII, I have the Marauder motor mounts ordered, should be here anytime. I kept the fuel tank for the 2 speed fuel pump, I am going to try to use it in a Mustang fuel tank. If the weather cooperates, I am going to try to set the engine and transmission in place this weekend. I will post more pictures as I go of the mock up.

Well the rain held me up this weekend, but I did finally receive the Marauder motor mounts yesterday. I got the bar stock to make spacers for the axle, and the round bar to make the spacers for the frame rails. I will be doing this, and hopefully set the engine and transmission into position this weekend. Thanks for all the encouragement.
