Pitted oil filter housing. V10
I have a 99 250 SD with the V10. I have a small oil leak at the aluminum oil filter housing cause it's pitte a little due to corrosion. I would rather repair it rather than replace it. Any else have this experience and what thoughts on its repair. Another thought was use another filter with same diameter screw hole but a larger gasket.

yes. i had this problem a month ago. this is what i did u have to remove the oil cooler.
first fallow the two coolant lines that are connected to it up to the larger hose. then clamp them off to save all ur coolant from flying out then remove the hoses from the housing then remove the oil filter and inside of the threaded tube that the filter screws onto is a hex hole u need a large allen wrench (cant remember what size) once u have one that fits put it in there and turn it out as if u were removing a bolt and the hole housing/cooler will fall into ur hands next clean it up real well and find all the pitting spray out the pitting with card cleaner real well then buy some quick-steel brand putty and smash it in the pitting ans best u can let dry and reassemble.
