New member saying hello.

I have been reading stuff on this sight for a long time, finally decided to join. I am not good with this computer stuff, so you will have to forgive me. I have my Grandfathers 1960 F100 taken apart in my basement, I am getting started on the restoration. Looking forward to getting to know some of you, I live in Woodstock, GA.

Welcome to the group. Always good to have more.

I hope your basement has a large door to the outside.

And you do not much in the way of computer skills to ask a question or answer someone else's question.

Welcome Pepperdyne.

Whats the scoop on your truck, did you tear it down for rebuild or did your grandfather start it? Going for a stock restoration or hot rodding it?

Welcome, and my advice is don't keep track of what you spend on it. It can spoil the fun and leave messy evidence......

Welcome aboard!

Taking pics of what things looked like before you tore them down can save you a lof of trouble!

Hi, and welcome to FTE and the most under-appreciated ,orphaned, much-maligned, yet oddly attractive trucks in existence.Except for that other brand.

How should we know? my 60 has no seat, much less any kind of beltage.

Original poster: so when do we get pics so we can point and recommend expensive parts?

My Grandfathers 1960 F100

My Grandfather passed away 12 years ago. Up to that point it was a running driving truck. My Grandmother and Uncle knew how much I loved my Grandfather and the truck, so they MADE me drive it home after the funeral in North Carolina because they knew I would never sell it. I drove the truck for about 6 or 7 years and then parked it because it needed major work. I have completely dissassembled it in my basement, I have the frame sitting on jack stands. I am removing the front Ibeam so I can install a crown vic front suspension (already purchased). I bought a 1995 Mark VIII for $500 with a good running engine and transmission that will go in the frame, along with the IRS. I am going to assemble it for fit, then dissassemble everything for painting. I will take pictures along the way. I want the truck to look fairly stock on the outside, but with updated drivetrain and interior. Sorry for being so long-winded.
Richard
