I have wanted to upgrade my 1966 F100 to front disc brakes for awhile. I know there is a tech article on using 73-79 spindles on a 1965-72 truck. However, my buddy has a 1981 F150 that he is parting out but I have no idea if these spindles will work?!? Anybody ever try using 80s front disc brake parts on a 72-65 truck?!?

Josh, I'm gonna say no. Ford went to a new front steering and suspension system in 80 and as far as I know these parts will not interchange with your truck. If you have the skills, time, tools and money you may consider using the newer frame. If you do anything like that post back and let us know how it turns out.
