Any flathead shops in Alabama?

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with any shops in Bama. May end up shipping mine off to H&H unless there's a reputable shop that can be trusted here.

I'm not sure. Flatheads you say? You've got my attention.

Oh, and WELCOME to the Chapter!

Yep, flathead V8 in my "new to me" '53 F100.

A friend of mine said he heard of someone in Cullman that supposedly works on 'em but I don't want to trust it to just anybody. I want someone that has many years experience, especially with modified flatheads.

Thanks for the welcome!

I have a friend who had some work done by a gentleman in Crossville, TN. He is supposedly very good. My friend is a stickler so he must be. Call Honest Charleys in Chattanooga and get a recommendation from them. Before I shipped a motor to California I would try someone within reasonable driving distance so if a problem popped up it wouldnt be as big a hassle. Let me know if I can help further. I would between AL, TN, and GA there has to be someone who can build a good flattie. Even if they are expensive shipping wont be cheap

Thanks for the leads guys....but, I actually got a 56 instead of the 53. The same friend that had the 53 showed up with a 56 too and I went for the 56 instead....so no flattie for me unfortunately. Maybe a flattie deuce coupe in the future for me!
