What is killing battery?
2 months ago my early 04-250 wns at the hardware store, went back the next day, batteries were dead. Put new batteries in, still no start, coded P0263 & P0676. Called a friend the next day to load on roll back and take home. Got to the store, we were going to push it back to load so I turned the key to shift to netrual. I told my friend to let me try 1 more time, fired up like a new truck. Got home, no start. 2 days later, started. Problem solved? 1 week later, no start. Put scanner on it, P02291 code, very weak turning over. Checked batteries, very weak, charged 3-4 hrs. Full charge, starts like a new truck. Not used for 2 weeks. Yesterday went to use, no start. Batteries very week. Put scanner on it, P0263,(cyl-1 contribution fault), P0528 (fan drive sensor circuit malf), P0676(cyl 6 glow plug circuit), P2617, (crakshaft pos output ckt-open). Charge batteries to full. While starting, ICP=400-485psi, ICP-v .71, ICP Duty Cycle 85.1. Would not start. Now code P02291 (low oil pressure while starting). What direction do I go? 04-250, 194K miles, EGR delete, new fuel pressure kit,(blue spring), changed oil & filters 3 weeks ago,(all motorcraft, new O-rings), Alt. output=13.76 vdc

The p2291 is why it wont start you have HPO problems
you have a HPO leak and classic sign of it no start Hot but will start cold
Can you monitor ICP and IPR%
any recent oil change and are you shure that you have an OEM oil filter LID with a motocraft oil filtert
Are the batterys ever Dead when you try and start or do they just run down from cranking
Almost sounds like you have 2 things going on here

I can borrow the Genisys from my friend to check ICP & IPR. I changed the oil 2 or 3 weeks ago. Used same cap as was on the truck. Used motorcraft filter. Did not change fuel because I had changed them last month, (motorcraft 2 pack). When I tried to crank Saturday the Iinjector Pressure was showing 400 psi up to 485 psi with no start. The codes Saturday were P0263(cyl #1 contribution), P0528, (Fan Speed sensorr circuit malfunction), P0267, (cyl. #6 glow plug circuit open). The code P02617(crankshaft position output circuit open) showed up before the batteries were charged but no after. Also, the check gauge light is on at the dash. I figured it was because the oil pressure gauge does not move until the engine starts. I was leaning toward the ICP sensor but now do not feel so sure.

Since the oil change and filter change is so close I think it would be best to verify the right Oil cap
the problem is there is a Oil Filter Drainback in the OIL Filter housing If you ever bought a Non OEM filter some also come with a newer cap to accomodate there taller oil filter. Then next time you change filter and use OEM the OEM is shorter and with the taller Oil filter cap and short filter the Drainback wont push down and close and Drain all the oil
Heres a good thread about the right wrong cap and problems that result from it
Your oil filter cap needs to be the short octagone shape
Tall/round is BAD
WRONG OIL FILTER CAP CAUSING UNFILTERED OIL TO TAKE OUT THE IPR

After glow plugs are off Alternator post should show 14.4 volts or better, I don't think it's is charging properly either. But I agree check the filter cap and filter, basically an hpo problem as a result of insufficient lp oil into HPO pump. Don't keep cranking it over and over without charging batteries up fully or you could melt FICM without enlists voltage of discharged batteries.

As soon as you remove the filter cap it releases a drain valve that lets the oil drain down to the pan. The wrong cap can let it drain while it is still installed. It can also let oil bypass the filter. Make sure you have a stock cap and oem filter.

I have never ground the stater til the batteries were too weak to start after they were charged up. I just can't figure out why they went weak 1-2 weeks after install. I charged them up and it started 1 time. Since then, no start. I never try turning over more than 3-4 times, as soon as it sounds slow, I guit.

OK, it's 7pm in Mississippi. I got home and checked, I had the Tall oil filter cap. BUT the correct one was in the tool box. Since the truck has not ran since the oil change I took the O'ring off the wrong cap and put on the correct, short cap. I tried to start but the engine did not IMO, turn over as it should. Put the charger on the batteries, charging at 6amps. After 1 hour I tried a start. The oil pressure gauge went up like it should (never had moved until engine started before) but still no start. I will check ICP and IPR tomorrow and post Wednesday. The only code tonight was P0676 and P2291. To all who have helped me so far, Thanks and God Bless. I am hoping for a bad ICP sensor.

I think you found your problem with the no start that being the Oil filter cap.
The Problem is the HPO reservoir is empty and its going to take some cranking now to fill it back up. Migght take up to 2 minutes of cranking to fill the HPO system back up with oil. So keep that charger on it and let the batterys rest every 20-30 seconds of crank time.
As for the weak Batterys I think its unrelaited and there another problem
But I think it will run Now the oil filter cap has been changed Just have to fill the HPO reservoir back up. But that definatly it since it hasnt ran since the oil change and filter change
I wouldnt replace that ICP sensor just yet!!
