Question Power Steering hoses?

Hey guys, I am in the finishing stages of putting a CV IFS into my '58 F 100. I have the suspension installed and the motor in. I have started putting all the "little" things back on the motor. My main hang up is that I don't know where I can get some power steering hoses made. I have a '03 front suspension and a '79 power steering pump. I need to connect the two in a way that will not leak. I have thought about getting a '03 power steering pump to solve the problem, but then I will have a pump with a serpentine pulley on it. Any suggestions?

measure how long they need to be and see what fitting you need and go to napa and they will make them for you just tell them what its for so use the hose with the correct pressure rating

1978: Ford changed the P/S pump on everything except Econolines, has a plastic reservoir.

The P/S pressure hose has a straight tube with an O-ring on the pump end. This hose connects to the pump with a qwik connect fitting.

1965/77 P/S pumps have a steel reservoir, P/S pressure hoses thread onto the pump.

napa can make you a hose with any fitting on either end with what ever hose you need.

I have not found anyone who makes the CV at the rack end.

Start calling. I find it hard to believe one of them won't make you a hose. You will need the CV portion that goes in the rack & the steel portion that goes in the pump. As I have said before the return line is just rubber hose with hose clamps.

So I can just take the portion sticking out of the rack and my pump to a place and they should be able to make me a hose say three feet long. I will start calling around.

You will need the piece that screws into the pump. Hit a salvage yard and grab one.

I called NAPA and the guy said that if I had the ends that I need then he can join the two. I also called CarQuest and that guy told me it just depends on what they have and what I need. I will probably go to the salvage yard and grab the hose that will fit my pump just to be safe. Things are looking up.

My pump must be a '77 then because the reservoir is steel and it has a threaded steel fitting. Thank you number dummy.
