Hello all, and good evening;
My name is Curtis, aka 732t37. As sddesigns mentioned, my DD is a 1991 F-150 LB, 300" w/ M5OD. I also have a 1983 F-350 DRW w/ Omaha stake body, 351" Windsor, Warner 4spd, and 4.1 rear.
I am a full-time Rutgers student, 21 years old. I live at McKittrick Nurseries, near Tinton Falls and with a second location in Pemberton, and got my early wrench-turning experience with agricultural tractors. I still do a fair amount of work with tractors, and I'm an IH fan.
I technically have three part-time jobs, 2 of which are in offices and take up maybe 10 hours a week each. I also work 20-30 hours a week as the in-house mechanic for C&C Distributors- Harvest House Bakery, in Farmingdale. My fleet there includes an 03 E-350 long body w/ Harvester diesel, an 87 Canadian F-250, also with Harvester diesel, an 02 Xcursion, that's diesel too, and way too many GM cube trucks with the 6.6 DMAX. Because of these hunks of scrap metal, I am even more firmly convinced that Ford makes better commercial vehicles, but without them I'd be out of a job.
I am a volunteer firefighter, and my duties at the firehouse include keeping up a 98 F-350 SRW with 7.3 (IIRC) diesel.
I spend a lot of time doing work on the side, for the bakery's employees and my friends. I also used to work in a junkyard for a year. As such, I have an excellent relationship with a lot of junkyards in my area, and can get parts very quickly and cheaply, including parts for older or more obscure vehicles. I make a few dollars just getting parts for other people to use.
I am a die-hard believer in classic American engineering, so please don't take it personally if I rip on anyone for defending front-wheel drive. To me, anything newer than Duraspark II is "newfangled", and I was quite shocked the day I found out that nowadays, the engines in diesel trucks shut off when you take the key out (I'm used to mechanical injection and engine controls). I also believe that anything not made of cast iron is a POS (like my Mazda tranny).
And yes, I would rather ride a horse than drive a GM or Chrysler. I'm pretty prone to making rather inflammatory remarks about how Chrysler is the root of all evil.
