Lowering 1992 F150

Alright so far, for lowering my 1992 F150 I've got a belltech rear flip kit and belltech I beams for the front. What is the flip kit good for in the back, 5 or 6 inch drop? I've seen people say both.... however I want a 4/6 drop, so if its only good for 5 in the back im going to need drop shackles. Now for the front is my question, how should I lower that other inch? Coil springs? Possibly lightning coil springs? I still want to be able to align my truck haha. Thanks

Yes flip kit is for 5. Shackles will get you the other inch. You will need to notch your frame also. For front lightning coils or 1" drop coils.

i went 5/5 on my 95 F150, i went beams and L springs in the front, and the flip in the rear ...

i say do the flip and the beams, and the L springs, and see how well you like it for awhile. I was going to go down another inch in the rear, but i decided not to and am happy with the results.

BTW, with my 5" rear drop, i didnt notch the frame... i just removed the bumpstops. Havent had any problems in 9 months of driving ...

86, do you think the belltech drop spring will be too much of a drop, its supposed to be a 2 inch drop. Would the alignment be thrown off too bad with the 2 inch drop? Im trying to find someone who makes a 1 inch drop coil, but no luck yet. Or where could I buy new lightning springs?

Good luck finding NEW lightning springs. Some come up on nloc from time to time. You might be able to go with the 2" drop coils and get new alignment bushings. When I'm on my computer ill post a link.

lol people never browse the classifieds here. I have a set of 1" drop coil springs for 87-96 f150's for sale. Just need painted as they are raw metal. I can send you a pic via txt message. $70 shipped is what I am asking

I lowered mine 4.5/6 and had front coil springs custom made. Cost a pretty penny but I like the way it looks and I did not notch my frame just removed bump stops and put small ones on. This is front with stock tires, also no problems aligning it. I have stempf automotives adjustable camber bushing and its good up to 4*. Also I did have the belltech 2" drop springs and they made me have tire rub.

heres my silver 95, i've since put some slightly shorter tires on it ...

That truck looks awesome, nice work bootlegger. Looks like i'll be getting the 2 inch drop springs from belltech which will make for a 5/6 drop. Does anybody have pictures of a 5/6 drop?

In this stylin trucks catalog I have in my hands, it has a belltech 5/6 drop for 87-96s that uses a flip kit only. No drop shackles to get 6 inches. See what I mean about some places it says 5 inches, some places it says 6?
