egr delete check engine light
I'm putting an egr delete onto my 2006 f.250. I already have an edge juice w/attitude CS. Is there any way to get a downloadable update to shut off my egr, so my check engine light won't be on? I'm planning on selling the edge and getting an act programmer with custom tunes from do-tuner.com in the near future, any thoughts?

I refinanced my truck, and the bank wants to "inspect" it to ensure the repairs were made. I can clear the light with the edge, but how long til it comes back on? They are bankers, so I could take it in blowing white smoke and they won't know its broken, but I'm thinking the check engine light might come into question once its fixed. Could I clear it and it stay off long enough to start it up, and check it over real quick?

for our fords, it's recommended to stick to the scangauge 2 or the edge insight. anything else will confuse the car computer, and cause strange burps and grumpy noises from the engine. i believe the scangauge 2 and the edge insight has a setting for the egr valve & CEL to turn off.
make sure tat ur actual egr valve is plugged in even after the egr delete, or ur car will be hopping around like a blasted cricket.

btw, i forgot to mention but i noticed u mentioned "white smoke". correct me if i'm wrong on tat. if ur blowing white smoke, it aint ur egr valve but it could be a more serious problem. i recommend u check ur car. white smoke means u got a coolant leak somewhere. it could be serious like an egr cooler busted or oil cooler busted. it could be simple like a egr cooler hose leaking. check ur coolant level in ur degas bottle. dont follow the idiot gauges in ur dashboard. they're inaccurate.
if u got a scangauge 2 scanner, plug it in and monitor ur eot vs ect temps. they should only be a 15 degrees spread. at wot & idle, ur normal temp should be about 190 degrees F. better check b4 they become a huge problem. if ur coolant may be unknowingly disappearing and there are no leak spots around the engine or on the floor, then most probably the coolant may be leaking into the engine, and continual driving may cause the engine to hydrolock. u dont wan tat.
let us know how ur check goes. there are a few procedures in our tech folder. check it out, or in doubt, send cheezit a pm. he's one of the more senior guys and he's well-qualified to help u.

You can turn the cel off with anything
how quick it comes back on is ?????? some take a few drive cycles
my 03 has the deleate and Iv never got a cel knock on wood 10K since so???
but I would think that 05+ maybe alittle quicker to turn the cel on and may even go into Limp Mode

You can bolt your egr on top of the delete. Plug harness back in and it looks stock. And no engine light
