New Explorer
so we are thinking about getting a new Explorer we are going probably with the following:
-Limited Ecobooost FWD
-Cinnamon metallic ext
-either stone or balck interior (would prefer stone as we have dogs with light color hair.. huskies)
-Sunroof
-302 or 303 package (i really want the xenon, but could care less about the rest in the 303)
We saw one at a local dealer with the 303 pkg listed at $45.7K on "sale" for $42.7K. I think that's a good starting price but i was hoping to bring it down by another $1K or so. We also have a $750 private cash offer and $500 rebate for Student (graduate student at the moment) and $500 for AQHA membership (american quarter horse). I assume that i could take that $1,750 off the dealer "final" price?
We wouldn't need the car till may? would we better off waiting a little more?
also does the explorer come with a hitch receiver? we wouldn't tow anything (got the F350 for that) just use a bike rack wit the receiver
p.s. anybody has a x-plan code?

You can go into this thread Car/truck Buying Advice - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums and request an X-plan pin.
Have you driven an Ecoboost Explorer yet? We're still looking for real opinions on one but it's pretty new.
As for the hitch, it would appear that on Ford's website, the only engine rated to tow with is the 3.5L V-6. The Ecoboost is not listed under any towing specs. So, the hitch may not be available on the your choice.
