6.0 check engine light help!

My truck has been and still is running fine. But on my way home from church today my check engine light came on. Once I was able to get home I got my tuner out and checked the codes. Two came up po273 and po611. Can anyone tell me what they are and what I need to do to fix the problem? Christmas is almost here and I will be traveling with the truck and don't want to be stranded somewhere if its a major problem. Thanks

P0273 I believe is a code either to do with circuit or contribution error. Which could mean FICM going out, wiring for the injector needing to be looked at, or injector going bad depending on what specifically that code is. That is, of course, if I'm remembering correctly that it is a cylinder code.

Go to the tech folder and perform the ficm test procedure. I have also seen low batteries cause these codes. Low batteries can cook an ficm.

Thanks for the responses! Will a low battery cause trouble in only one injector? I had my tuner in again and it showed the same codes again but listed the number 5 injector. I will check the batteries in the morning. But the truck turns over and starts just fine.

Thanks for all of your quick responses! I tested it late lastnight and it was the ficm going out of the truck. Unfourtanitly I don't have any time to wait for it to be rebuilt due to it being a work truck and the holidays coming. But I do have a few friends at my local dealership! So 700.00 part and installation I'm back up and running!

Diesel Pop thanks alot for the video you posted! It really helped me out alot. I was able to diagnose it right off and then tismorning when I went to the dealership to get the part I was ahead of the game by knowing what I needed. I just got lucky and they had a opening right then and could throw it on for me.
