i have only driven it about 30km since the clicking started, i did drive down the highway and couldn't hear the clicking, but i don't no if that's just because of tire noise ect. the noise is really noticeable taking off in 1st and second. like i said originally it sounds like it is coming from behind the transmission but hard to tell from the driver seat. im going to put the truck on jack stands and put it in gear and see if i can pin point were the noise is coming from exactly, the noise i guess. if it is the u joints is it safe to drive for a couple days?
thnks for the help!

If you put your truck on jack stands you will be taking most of the load off the ujoint. If your u joints are serviceable, just grease them and listen for the noise. If the noise isn't bad you may not feel any play at the driveshaft. They will get worse and can leave you stranded but you should be able to make it to the next day off. Or you could just take it in to a shop.
Good luck and keep us posted.

thanks, i still haven't had the time to investigate anything yet but im going to see what i can figure out today, my u joints aren't serviceable which is kinda stupid. and the angle on the drive shaft from the lift isn't to bad,and yea it has had the lift for a while. thanks ill keep u posted on my findings haha

okay, so i have a 2 peice driveshaft that has one u joint at the back and two at the front, when i got some time i checked it out and wiggled my driveshaft around and sure enough it was one of the front u joints or both, or so i thought. i went down to lordco and bough the two u joints and replaced them, once i had the driveshaft together with the new u joints i moved it around a bit to find that replacing the u joints was not the issue, so it must be the coupler inbetween the u joints
thanks for anyones help
