You could start simple by checking the fluid in tranny or see if the filter needs attention. But I'm sure if you wait a little, someone will chime in with some actually good advice ha ha ha ha ha.

You might look at your U joints. They typically squeal when they go out, but clicking is a possibility. When you are in neutral or clutch in there is very little load on them. Do they click less at highway speeds?

i have only driven it about 30km since the clicking started, i did drive down the highway and couldn't hear the clicking, but i don't no if that's just because of tire noise ect. the noise is really noticeable taking off in 1st and second. like i said originally it sounds like it is coming from behind the transmission but hard to tell from the driver seat. im going to put the truck on jack stands and put it in gear and see if i can pin point were the noise is coming from exactly, the noise i guess. if it is the u joints is it safe to drive for a couple days?
thnks for the help!

If you put your truck on jack stands you will be taking most of the load off the ujoint. If your u joints are serviceable, just grease them and listen for the noise. If the noise isn't bad you may not feel any play at the driveshaft. They will get worse and can leave you stranded but you should be able to make it to the next day off. Or you could just take it in to a shop.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Sorry, just looked at your rig specs. How is your driveshaft angle with the 6.5" lift. U joints could be binding. That will definately cause a click. Has the lift been on awhile?

You haven't told us your trucks configuration so if you have a two piece rear drive shaft check the carrier bearing.

okay, so i have a 2 peice driveshaft that has one u joint at the back and two at the front, when i got some time i checked it out and wiggled my driveshaft around and sure enough it was one of the front u joints or both, or so i thought. i went down to lordco and bough the two u joints and replaced them, once i had the driveshaft together with the new u joints i moved it around a bit to find that replacing the u joints was not the issue, so it must be the coupler inbetween the u joints

thanks for anyones help
