Dealer Problems

At this current time...my truck has 27k on it. It is a 11' F250 4x4 Extra Cab Fx4.

Its been to the shop at 4k because a transmission seal blew and was pouring out transfer fluid.

Now its in for the rear axle not locking (even though the screen says it is).
Steering making a pretty loud noise when turning
Shocks being shot
and being unsafe on the highway, pulling horribly, hitting a bump and its hard to keep in a lane.

Dropped it off at 8 am yesterday. I got a call at 3 yesterday, saying the rear axle was fine.
Was told steering was fine and it was my oversized tires rubbing causing the noise. I laughed and said, oh no. She laughed and said oh yes and could show me where they were rubbing.
I laughed and started yelling, I told you it was doing it when in PARK.

She also told me the shocks were perfectly fine.

So they say they will look at it again.

Call me a half hour later and ask me for my wheel lock...

What haven't even pulled anything off to look at it???

They said one lower ball joint was loose.

Haven't heard anything since the wheel lock call.

I don't want to state the name of the dealer yet, but will be if this isn't taken care of. They are a huge dealer in Southeastern MI

Rant over, sorry...

Regarding your hitting a bump and staying in a lane, there's a TSB out for that depending on your build date. Check out what mine's doing in the post below:

I have the video on my tablet but the dealer didn't want to see it, he said they knew what to do and would look at it (they have my truck now). I really wanted to show him though, the video is pretty cool nonetheless...

Anytime you upgrade tires to a larger size you might want to consider an upgrade to a dual steering stabilizer as well.

Not saying that is your problem but overall I could help with the stability factor.

My dealer just called and said they feel the tire rotation alleviated my wheel wobble. Fail..

I'm not even going to fight them on it, will ask Santa (read Mastercard) for a new stabilizer this winter...

On another note, they did have to replace some items to correct my 4wd issues, will report in the "ruh-roh" thread once I pick it up tonight.

Matt,
Bilstein makes a HD stabilizer for our trucks now. I saw it on shockwarehouse.com. I'm debating about getting one along with all four shocks. These fake Ranchos aren't good!

Cool, thanks for the heads up. Ford really worked their magic when they spec'ed these out to Rancho. I'll probably go with the Bilstein stabilizer and the RS9000's on all 4 corners.

The fake Rancho's and the Continental tires that so many of these trucks come with are just bad decisions.

I had the Bilstein HD's on my last truck and I was very happy with them. The colors didn't bother me either.

Regardless if they change the shocks or not, I'll be putting Bilsteins on. I didn't know they had a stabilizer out either...I will also be getting that, regardless if they replace it.

I have stock size tires going back on tomorrow, with a more aggressive tread..so we'll see what happens.

Nice to know that Bilsteins has a stabilizer. I just put on the 5100's on my truck, that will be the next thing done.

Your looking for the plate holder right? I think I found it while cleaning the garage last weekend, I'll check and make sure.
