Looking for a rear roll Pan for my '49. anyone know who makes or sells any.

 

Give Hot Rods Trucks a call. That is were i got mine. You can get them with or without a recess for the license plate.

 

If your truck is stock, Mack Products, Moberly MO has what you want.

Thats a pretty picture. What size tires do you have wedged in out back? I have some 295/50/15's that about similar to those. Pretty tough looking.

Thanks for the info on the roll pan. By the way, are you still running the stock rear axle? I'm liking the way those tires sit in your fenders and they look really good with the roll pan.

 

No its not the original rearend i dont think. 2 pos back put in this 10 bolt, so i had the wheels made with 5 1/2 "" back space, wich is what you see. There is still a few inches of clearence. Id like to bring the wheels in a littel more, maybe bigger wheels, maybe just less backspace, maybe shorter houseing with tubs, I dont know. I guess the first step will be to to inspect the rearend and see what it is, and what shape its in.

If you don't mind me bugging you again, what size wheels are you using with those 295's? I currently have 8" (wide) wheels with a 4" back spacing. The problem is, they are an older aluminum style and no matter what I try, I have one that leaks air pretty bad at the bead. I've re-mounted it, bead sealer, etc. with no luck. Do you run a 10" wide wheel? Mid-Fifty offers an version of the stock steelies that are 15 x 10" with a 5" back spacing, but real estate tucked in that rear fender is already getting scarce. Let me know if you have any opinion/knowledge on this and what you're running. If you wouldn't mind, I'd love to see some more pictures of these tires/wheels on your truck!

Yes my rims are 10" wide with 5 1/2' backspaceing, I believe i had them made up at Stockton wheel. I checked the BF Goodrich chart and it recomends 8' to 10' rims on 295/15s, 9.5" rims will give a tire width of 12.2". Im sorry but I dont know the width of my rear axels. PS I just found an old note in a box of reciepts , and it has the backspaceing as 4 1/2", Im not sure but I think there 5 1/2" Backspaceing. If you need to know anything super accurate send me a PM and Ill go measure whatever you need no problem, its just dark and cold at the moment.
