In my experience with the wife's 2010 Edge... the Pirellis are pretty darn good (hers is AWD); grip in all road conditions and make the Edge a better snow vehicle than my F250 4x4

Same basic comment for me. My wife's 2008 Edge AWD does better than my 97 Expedition 4x4, unless the snow is too deep and the Edge starts to plow. The stock Pirelli tires seems pretty good and i am at the point of needing new tires on her car just as you are.

I will third what Bob and the Chevy guy said, the pirelli scorpion tire on my MKX have be pretty darn incredible! 48,000 + miles on them and I have no doubt they will hit 60,000 or more. I will def consider them when we are in need and I consider myself a michelin/ BFG man.

Well, I decided to change to a different tire on my wife's Edge. I live where we get snow and ice, so searched for a good winter conditions all season tire. I would get dedicated winter tires if we lived where there is enough winter, but here it is not a consistent long period of cold. We get up and down cycles.

I ended up getting Yokahama Parada tires, based on results at tirerack.com. So far it has been a very good choice. Had a bad Dec with lot of snow and have been happy with the performance.
