Has anyone in the davis county area had any problems with diesel swaps. I touched basis with the Davis County Diesel emissions testing center and talked to a guy named Collin. My question to him was - any problems converting my '96 Gas F-350 to a 6BT 12-Valve Cummins and he told me I could not do it and I would be fined $2500 if I did it. He told me the only thing I could do would be to switch the truck to a Powerstroke of the same year or newer. He gave me the typical EPA certification B.S. I asked him how come it was legal to do in the crazy state of California but not here in conservative Utah. He didn't have an answer - just told me it was illegal. Any one know of any loop holes or how to get around it. What year do you start having to get diesels smogged in Davis COunty?

 

Good question... I live in Weber County but have been told by several shops that "you are lucky you live in Weber County" in regard to emissions. You could talk to the guys at Master Muffler in Layton or Clearfield- They seem to know the rules and regulations.
