high-idle switch?

I have an 09 Exped EB as my patrol vehicle w/the Sheriffs Office.

I was thinking about putting in a high-idle switch since I have a few extra slots on my siren box. This would help w/the sucky air issue at idle (which police cars do A LOT while on scene ie wrecks or calls in general) and also keep a higher RPM for lights etc (not that I really need it but just in case)

I did a quick search and didnt find any old threads.

Has anyone tried something along these lines? If so, is there a writeup floating around somewhere?

Thanks.

There are some threads regarding the high idle mod in the 6.0 and superduty forums but are discussing with the upfitter switches. Not sure if it would apply in your situation or not, i.e. wiring.

You might want to search in the 5.4L engine forum to see if you can find it there.

thats a good idea.
I usually hang out over in the Powerstroke forums and there are a lot of high-idle threads over there. I figured being two different engines there wouldnt be too much that would xfer between vehicles but Im willing to research anywhere.
Ill check over in the 5.4 forum... I forget they have different engine forums too.
