Ignition switch

How's it goin? I've got a problem with my ignition switch in my 59 f100 which has come loose from the dash. It's hard to tell but it appears that the bezel is holding that sucker in? Is there another clip or something that may have fallen out that keeps the entire switch from spinning when i turn the key? Driving me crazy, and i can't seem to find any info on it. Thanks.

You could say that the bezel holds it in but there is more to it than that. There is a large spring behind the dash that holds pressure against a spring cup that has two little ears on it which fit into the two corresponding notches in the dash behind the bezel. The spring must be compressed (by grabbing hold of the swith body and pushing towards the dash), to cause the ears on the spring cup to stick thru the dash which in turn the bezel turns into the spring cup and is held in place with two internal ears of it's own.

I trust that is as clear as mud. Someone around here probably has a pic of this, wait awhile, it will show up.

Hey thanks, I think I got it. Turns out when I reinstalled he switch, the spring cup wasnt seated into the groove on the switch, allowing it to spin in the cup.
sometimes its the little things that'll drive ya nuts! Thanks for the help.
