Question oil leak from oil filter housing need info

f250 super duty triton V8 5.4 L 4X4

found oil leak on the housing itself several pin holes just out side where the filter gasket seals.

upon looking at it seems pretty tough job.

so my question is can the oil filter housing be replace without pulling the motor or can i just remove the engine mounting brackets and then the housing or is there more to it and where could i possible find detailed instructions on how to do this my self

and where do i find a new one?

or is it just a dealership item?

or could i just pb weld it ?

If it is on the front D. side of the engine like mine it can all be done with the engine in. I'll assume a SD has just as much if not more room than my F150, Rockauto should have everything you need. It will be far easier with the inner fender flap removed. Hardest time I had was with the top and bottom bolts, very little room to get to them but it can be done and with a very small movement of the wrench.

I replaced the gasket on on in a 93 MarkVIII which is much tighter than a truck so it shouldn't be too hard. Can't even hardly get to the filter in that chassis.

Oil leak need help?

Got a 04 f-150 with the 5.4 triton an I’ve got a oil leak on driver side of motor. I think it’s coming from oil filter housing but not sure. I got my oil changed on 6-30-18 at 124,483 miles an I checked the oil today 8-2-18 at 125,555 An it’s at the add mark. I’ve tightened all the oil pan bolts oil filter housing bolts an oil filter itself an still leaking oil. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem? If so what was it an how’d you fix it?? Thanks

Check exactly where the oil leak is comming from, clean the engine real good and avoid getting the COP wet.
