I'm just wondering which one is the better engine. IMO the 6.0L is better, but what do I know, I'm new to diesels. Hince the reason I ask the question ??

I see you've got a 6.0, so you've apparently made your decision already.

They're both good engines. The better one is the one that best serves it's owners need.

I would think that since this is in the 6.0 forum the replys will be Biased

I was reading the other thread where this started if you want to see a good debate start a thread which is Better Gas or Diesel in the Super Duty/Heavy Duty Forum

I used a 2000 7.3L to pull my 7000 lb camper home after my IRP valve went bad. I have to say. I'm glad I got a 6.0L. The 7.3L acted like it was weak as Pond water. It didn't like goin up hills with my camper. An I'm in southern Alabama , so no big hills down here.

Or which oil is better, and if you should keep the EGR system.

Cummins suck. Big piece of junk. Cheap motors. Even in 18 wheelers the cummins motor is junk. But you have to look at what it's in to. A DODGE. They r junk to. So it's only fitting that a junk truck would get a junk motor.

They gave that name,DODGE, to that truck for a reason. So people with good sense would avoid it.

There are a lot of 12v cummins running around with 4-5 hundred thousand miles on them.
