brake anchor pin.... how to undo ???

Bought chiltons.....mentions it .....but not how to undo......the new ones that came with the new shoes on my 4x4 350 duelly ( 1996 ) look like little little wheel studs with splines....dont want to get out the BFH and ruin things any u tube video or .....mike in omaha

Is this for the parking brake lever? I'm having trouble picturing what you are talking about..

top of drum brakes ..... post shoes pivit on

the emergancy brake cable is fastened here also

The anchor pin above the wheel cylinder is NOT removable on most applications. There is really no need to remove it unless it is worn out, if that is the case you'll need to replace the whole backing plate..

there is broke....I have the new one but cant disassemble to R and R

There should be a nut on the back of the pin.

I will look tonight.....old salter truck....somethings are so disolved they are hard to make out mike in Omaha

Just did brakes two days ago, bashby is correct with the 7/16" socket. I also needed a set of vise grips to hold the stud from spinning.

If it or the backing plate is rotted bad enough, you'll have to replace the whole backing plate. I could grab a set of rust-free ones off a CA truck next time I'm at the junkyard if you need them.
