I've run into a few issues with the headlights on my '74... here are some pics to help explain:

I've modified both of these to fit the new H4's, which is fine...


But when it's come to putting them back on, I don't have enough of these:

To bolt in the complete headlight assembly to here:



Has anyone put a complete new set of these in anything with 7" round lights and can point me in the right direction (preferably in Oz)? The main thing I need is the adjusting/securing screws, the rest I can MacGuyver if I have to.

I'll also post this in the 73-79 forum and see if any hits come in from those guys.

Anything made out of plastic or rubber is usually replaceable with a new one from somewhere. The trick is finding a supplier...

GOOGLE "HEADLIGHT HARDWARE" for one, and shop around. Online is usually a price buster!

*I have often wondered about transplanting 'Folding Headlights' from say - a Lincoln or something, to a project.

The only way I can see it is to cut out the entire supporting structure and weld or bracket it into place in the other machine.


But wouldn't it be way cool to have folding headlights on something that wasn't supposed to have them???

One of the boys in the 73-79 section linked me to an online shop called AMK and I've got some Mustang ones on order.

Vacuum headlights are ok as long as the lines are replaced regularly. It's a common fault with our Landau coupes that they perish and then you have no headlights haha!
