Any truck can do that. So the cab was smashed, that has nothing to do with the engine and driver line. Nothing hit the front end. The hood and engine were untouched, just a dent in the left front fender.

I bet the electric windows don't work any more.

Honesty people, this is cheep marketing and not worth showing.

Where is my 3 L diesel with 30 MPG and a 6 speed manual. Rubber floor covering I can hose out? Trucks are now 4WD sofas which aren't good for any real work.

So tell me when exactly trucks had rubber flooring because I can't think of a single one. The Honda Element doesn't count as a truck

And no they didn't give you a 3 L diesel, they gave you Eco Boost.

Trucks are more flexible than they used to be, they have to be. Family people don't want a road-travelling tractor that's tough as nails but can't go over a bump without making the damm baby start screaming. By and large though trucks are BETTER than they used to be with more power, more safety, and way better fuel mileage than 20 years ago.

 

All of my Fords have rubber flooring: 1967 F250; 1971 F500, 1995 F150 XL.

Carpets suck.

 

You can still get rubber flooring in these trucks it is an option in the XLT and lower models for sure. It might be for the Fx4 and Lariat I am just not too sure.

 

Its a real shame when a truck gets beat up like that. My 97 F150 died, but many new parts to the new owner! Now I have a 97 Explorer 4x4, just safetied. Toyota, are you kidding me!!!! They apparently still make good lawn mowers.

The point is that starting and driving a truck away with some bent sheet metal does show a tough truck. A tough truck is one that can work for 15 years, with 250,000 miles and only need only maintenance type repairs. I have worked with old trucks like that.

Carpet in a truck, who came up with that idea? Construction sites with mud everywhere and the trucks have carpet in them?

As for the new v6 ecoboost motors, they may be good long term motors but, they are very complex and any repairs to the variable cam systems will eat up any fuel savings. I hope they are solid, we will see. One thing for sure, all the manufactures use small diesels in small trucks all over the world. Just not here for some reason. Look around at all the small 10000 pound cab forward delivery type trucks small V6 diesels. Why do you suppose they run diesels in these trucks? It because they cost less over the long term. You won't find an ecoboost motor in any real work trucks. By the way, the F650 has a small Cummins not that ridiculous new 8 liter power stroke. Now why would they do that?
