Battery Power Drain

1996 F250 PSD 7.3L Automatic transmission has a power drain issue. Went to go start the truck. All it does is click. In order to now start it, It gets jumped by my Dodge Ram 1500 5.2L Any thaughts here?

Some times it couldbe the battery. Particals can settle in the bottom of a cell and short the plates. This will cause a voltage drain in the system. If you know the battery is ok you can use a volt meter and remove fuses to pin point the short in your ele.system. A multimeter is very handy I use mine all the time in the shop and around the house.

I should have mentioned that the batteries are both new.

Is your glow plug relay stuck closed? I have heard this is a rather common problem with the PSD.

How do I check that? The GPR was replaced last year.

The only thing I would do differently is to start by disconnecting the entire PDC before pulling fuses. My drain was a bad alternator, so alot of time could have been saved if I had eliminated all circuts at once.
