Upgrade Fuel tank to larger capacity
Has anyone thought about adding a large fuel tank?
I've heard of some from past years but nothing about 2011?
I'd be interested in one that was 50 gallon replacment tank.
I found this link for Ford F-250 2011 replacement tanks.

I replaced the factory 30 gallon tank on my 2010 with a 47 gallon aluminum tank from Transfer Flow Inc. out of Chico CA. Transfer Flow carries tanks for both gas and diesel. My particular configuration (short bed) left me with 47 gallon max tank capacity under the bed of the truck. It cost me $1300 complete and I love it. The only problem you may have is that CA has to test and certify their tanks and that takes time. As a result I had to wait until November 2010 to get my tank.

I've been eyeing tanks for a while now, everything seems to be either diesel, or made for scab's and screw's wheres the love for us guys with regular cab's?

My 05 reg cab F250 LB has a 38 gallon tank from the factory. Not bad with the 5.4 V8. On the other hand my 08 F350 screw SB V10 only has a 30 gallon tank which is on the small side to tow with. I have a 12 F150 FX4 on order with a ecoboost and the 36 gallon tank. 20+ MPG and 36 gallons = long range runner.

EcoBoost mileage
Delayed response to KSCRUDE: new to forum and I'd be interested in how your 2012 FX4 is doing with EB engine and 36 gal tank. Was pleased with mine until towing 4500 lb trailer which dropped my mpg to below 10 from 21 when clean. I am searching for an auxilliary fuel tank or a fiberglass
RV trailer.

The dealer ordered the FX4 and forgot some of the options I wanted so I did not buy. We did order and buy a 12 expedition with the 5.4. Runs like a dog compared to the 3.5 eco! I have driven several. Everybody I know that has one says they really suck the gas towing or running at high speeds. We did buy a baby eco in a 13 escape and it runs like a scared rabbit. It say 30 highway and 25 city. Best we have ever gotten was 23 highway. Also bought a 13 Newmar 33 foot class A motor home on a ford F53 chassis. It has the V10 with the five speed auto and it makes six to eight pulling the escape on a tandem axle trailer. About 25 K total weight. It could use a 5.0 Ecoboost, not really worried about the gas, but the power would be nice.

Maybe you could find a newer ford in a junk yard and rob the 36 gallon tank from it. Probably pretty scarce right now though. I haven't found much line for the F150. Most fit the super duty line. Are you could maybe buy the new 36 gallon from ford and retro fit it to your rig. Probably pretty pricey though.
